Recent 妖姬直播 graduate Javier Haro recalls being struck by assistant professor Melissa Osborne鈥檚 passion for her work. In a way, he could relate. Originally a civil engineering major, Haro learned quickly he didn鈥檛 have passion for the field. He briefly dabbled in exercise science, too, before learning from Osborne about public health and the impact it could have on the world at large, especially in local communities. It was then that he found his passion.

'Dynamic Duo' impact exercise science through undergraduate research at Kennesaw State

妖姬直播 senior Kaden Buford likes being hands-on with exercise science, immersing in a clinical environment and helping people heal from injuries. Her classmate Kayla Anderson, on the other hand, prefers research, delving into the scientific 鈥渨hy鈥� using data, experiments, and observation. Together, they form a formidable team of exercise science majors studying effective measures of muscle function and supporting each other both in and out of the lab. Recently, they worked together on three research projects, and Anderson presented her findings at the spring Symposium of Student Scholars.

Kennesaw State's Healthcare Management and Informatics program celebrates 10 years preparing workforce leaders

The Master of Science in Healthcare Management and Informatics (MSHMI) program is the first of its kind in Georgia and the only one in the state that takes a truly interdisciplinary approach. Housed in the Coles College of Business, the program extends to the College of Science and Mathematics, the Wellstar College of Health and Human Services, and the College of Computing and Software Engineering at KSU, giving its students a comprehensive understanding of the complex relationships that compose the health informatics field.

Though they took different paths toward Kennesaw State鈥檚 nursing program, students share a common thread in that all are members of the inaugural cohort of the Wellstar-Tom and Betty Phillips Elite Honors Nursing Scholars. Established in 2021, the program aims to produce top-notch nurses who benefit from a strong emphasis on academic scholarship. Each scholar belongs to the 妖姬直播Journey Honors College and participates in nursing-focused research projects in addition to rigorous curriculum in the Wellstar School of Nursing.

The non-traditional, first-generation 妖姬直播 student has embraced change at every turn, from leaving her longtime restaurant job to enroll in college, to juggling several research projects across multiple disciplines as a mother of four. Along the way, Maillet has presented at the Symposium of Student Scholars, engaged in research as part of the First-Year Scholars program, and secured a spot in the President鈥檚 Parliament Scholars Ambassadors (PPSA) program.

Her name can be found in the rosters of various registered student organizations, and her commitment to her studies has landed her five competitive scholarships.

Kennesaw State graduate program shines at national orthotics and prosthetics conference

A current student and two graduates of 妖姬直播鈥檚 Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics program earned honors recently at the Hanger Live Conference in Nashville, a celebrated event in the prosthetics and orthotics industry. Second-year MSPO student Jen Self earned the Student Research Award, and recent graduates Joyc鈥檒ynne Williams and Brianna 鈥淭aylor鈥� Beard were named Residents of the Year. The three were among a nationwide pool of applicants.

Passion drove Marissa Alban to 妖姬直播 and from one potential career path to another. She came to 妖姬直播to study nursing, a field driven by the passion of its practitioners. Unable to shake her love and talent for singing, however, she channeled her passion into a music major with a focus on vocal performance, where she remains on a path toward a career as a professional singer.
