The Offices of Undergraduate Research and Global Education are pleased to partner on a funding program designed to help faculty who work with undergraduate researchers. This project is part of KSU’s "Year Of" Annual Country Study. For the 2025-2026 academic year, the "Year Of" country is the United Kingdom.

Faculty can apply for up to $1,000 in funding to support a collaborative research project involving undergraduate researchers and a United Kingdom partner.

The application portal will open on August 1st. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until December 15, 2025, or when all funds are disbursed, whichever comes first.

The application portal can be found .

Congratulations to the following faculty who were selected to receive funding during the Year of Canada (2024-2025):

  • Dr. Soon Goo Lee, Assistant Professor of Molecular and Cellular Biology
    • Biochemical and Structural Characterization of Chalcone isomerase-like Proteins in (Iso)flavonoid Biosynthesis
  • Dr. Shadi Beshai, Associate Professor of Psychology
    • The Associations Between Dispositional Mindfulness and Fatalism: Implications for Mindfulness-Based Interventions

    • Faculty must work with one or more undergraduate researchers on the project.
    • The undergraduate researchers will present at the Symposium of Student Scholars in either the Fall or Spring.
    • Funds must be utilized by April 15, 2026.
